![]() Target golem, fine, Cloudshift the Splicer for replacement. Target Blade Splicer, fine, counter with Cloudshift - another golem. The cool thing about Cloudshift / Momentary blink is that burn spells won´t be that dangerous. I know that I could have an advantage by running counter spells but I´m trying to build another strategy. My deck take advantage of Blade Splicer and with that running Cloudshift and Momentary Blink. With my deck I´m not too concerned about the opponents threats at turn three, at least that what I´ve thought out so far. I split my reply in two parts to make it a bit easier. At that point you're just going to be slowed down by it. I just don't think that's the case when you're trying to use it with multiple card types. and I really don't care if I have to pay mana to play those 'cause everything else is free. The only cards that aren't affected by the Semblance Anvil effect, are Artful Dodge and Mutagenic Growth. The deck is filled with 2 and 4 drop artifact creatures with infect, so Semblance Anvil affects everything when another artifact is exiled. I actually run a Semblance Anvil infect deck, but it has a single purpose there: Play cheap creatures. What else could you be playing on turn 3 to put the board state in your favor? A three drop flying creature? Saving your mana for a counter spell to counter their turn 3/4 play?ĭon't get me wrong, I love Semblance Anvil. Whats worse, you have to wait until turn 3 before you can take advantage of this effect at all. The same goes for exiling a creature, except now you have to fill those spots with more creatures. You could fill these slots with removal or counters and be much more flexible. So you want to play non-miracle Temporal Masteries for 3UU? That means at least two slots in your deck are dedicated to throwing cards away. For every card type that you want to cheapen with the Anvil, you have to completely remove a card of that type from the game. ![]() ![]() I think Semblance Anvil can be great, but I'm not sure about using it the way you want to. It's a fun deck idea, but I think you're trying to be a bit too cute. If the Helix gets destroyed or discarded, I run into problems. My deck pretty much relies on casting Gifts Ungiven to set up a combo. This deck seems to have the same issues that my pet deck (Spellweaver Helix) has, you open yourself up to card disadvantage and inconsistency. On the other hand, if you wanted to use it in a more control shell (making Mastery less expensive) then you may as well just run Time Warp instead. In an aggressive deck, you want to keep up pressure and not tap out turn 3 for a destructible card that doesn't change anything when you cast it. If you want to use it aggressively (ie- make Hero 2 mana) than you're better off just playing an aggressive deck and casting Hero for 4. However, I think it's just a little too slow and you're pretty inconsistent. Now I like what you're doing here, really fun idea. You make specific points and questions and, as a mod here, I really appreciate that. Too many people just post deck lists and beg for help. Just want to start by saying thank you for actually putting effort into this post.
